On faculty at Eastern Mediterranean University on the island of Cyprus from 2000-2005, Duo46 organized bi-annual composition residencies on campus with composers Daniel Asia, Brian Hulse, Jorge Liderman, David Lidov, Paul Richards, Russell Sarre and Allan Segall, cellists Erich Oskar Huetter, Ozgur Elgun, violist Peter Sulski and pianist Nathanael May. After the group's debut recording "FMI: Homage to the 50s," their performance of new music has been described as "cutting edge" by the Cincinnati Enquirer and "deftly balanced and articulated" by the Detroit Free Press. Their second recording "Untaming the Fury" on Summit Records features new American works commissioned by Duo46 in commemoration of 9/11. Strad Magazine noted: "{the works} are performed with such commitment and flair." A track from this CD was recently included on a compilation recording "Communing with Music: Practicing the Art of Conscious Listening." Their latest recording, "Aires de Sefarad" features 46 Spanish Songs for Violin and Guitar by Jorge Liderman on Albany Records, and a recent project featuring the chamber music of University of Florida Gainesville professor Paul Richards is scheduled for release with Meyer-Media, Fall 2006.
